Vintage Kiddo Retro Round Up!

Hello friends! Did you have a great weekend? We had a terrific one. FINALLY the weather has sorted itself out…not too hot…not too cold. It was pretty perfect. Miss Dottie and I hit the Renegade Craft Fair and had a fabulous time. We chatted and shopped and met so many awesome people. We’ll have a little run down of our afternoon in the next day or two but until then YEE HAW! We have some fun vintage finds to share with you! Let’s cut to the chase, shall we??

With an adorable name like Sam and Milly, it stands to reason that all of this shop’s goodies would be adorable too. The giraffe? The elephant? SO AWESOME.

I think vintage for kiddos is the coolest, son. How about this awesome little shirt? From Etsy rock-n-rollers, The Young Team.

Oh lawdy, those cool cats at Robot Parade for Kids know how to rock the vintage in such a hip and fun way. With the new movie almost out, this Smurfie shirt is sure to please!

Sassy Sandi from AdaLou Vintage brings us this sweet as can be plaid and flower dressie!

Ah, mother midnight….how magical are your goods. I have to say that this mod scooter dress is killing me.

And this rad take on the Mr. Furley jumpsuit (the colors!) is too good:

Wowza. This Club Babalu plaid is so classic! From the groovy kids at Mid-Centurecycled.

I also looove these iron-ons. Especially that one on the left!

Ohhh, Miss J from the Sweet Shop Vintage, how you gonna tempt me so?? I don’t even have a little girl and I kinda want this sweet summer outfit.

And these smaller suitcases are also FABulous. Quick, please someone buy them before I do!!

This wee western flannel is perfect for your little rocker cowboy! From ever awesome I Love Vintage Stuff.

My pal lishy loo vintage has a huge collection of goods in her shop. I’m loving this little 70s style ernie shirt!

I can not lie. This vintage baby book from starfriends on earth had me swooning. I think I’d be afraid to write in it though!

And the charm of this little Going to Gramma Suitcase is so fabulous

Holy super mod! If this fantastic dressie doesn’t get you shouting “Sweet U-S of YAY!!” I don’t know what will. (Hee. That’s one of Dottie’s fave expressions!) From seller Little Dollie Madison.

These charming puzzles from Rainy Day Story Vintage have such great illustrations!

And finally, here’s one to watch! The darling shop The Littlest is beautifully curated. The shop isn’t open right now (update is in the works!), but there are items up for browsing. Do check it out!

Here’s to another happy summer week!

Star Spangled Fourth of July Vintage Kiddo Retro Round Up!

Oh nothing makes you crave red, white and blue as much as the fourth of July.  What with all of the parades, BBQs and parties going on this weekend, you must make sure your kiddo is dressed patriotically and fortunately the best U.S. of Yay outfits are vintage–natch! So, I rounded up some dandy little ensembles for your wee ones! Enjoy!

So, let me start it off with a bang with this crazytown awesome seahorse and stars dress from Ebay seller, Robot Parade 4 Kids. Did I mention the blue seahorses and the stars.  I want this so bad, my teeth hurt!

Let’s start it off with a bang with these ADORABLE little vintage  jonjons of cuteness that would be perfect for running through the sprinkler in. From Etsy seller Star Friends on Earth.

Check out these vintage  liberty bell bottoms with a little chick.  I have to look away, they are so cute! From Etsy seller, Red Comb Vintage.

FuzzyMama has some great red, white and blue goodies–like this button cute little polka dotty friend! Who wouldn’t want to romp in that?

Let your little Yankee Doodle Dandy lead the Fourth of July parade tapping out a song on this sweet vintage drum. From CeeGee’s Attic.

Miss Lish does it AGAIN with these bicentennial corduroy overalls. Stars! Stripes! Liberty Bells! Eagles! 76! What else could one want?

Stars and stripes forever–well, at least stars with this easy wearing little vintage starry jumper dress.  From Etsy seller, The Fancy Tail.

Believe it or not I’m walking on air now that I’ve found this sweet SIGNED Greatest American Hero doll!  How U. S. of Yay is that? From Ebay seller, Rotofigure.

Of course swimming is for a lot of people a huge part of the summer and fourth of July festivities. And with good reason if one could find a suit as cute as this little vintage number? From Etsy seller, Captain Cat.

Oh Rand McNally, is there no subject you haven’t touched?  This 1960s book about Betsy Ross and the American flag is genius.  From Etsy seller, Grandmother’s Attic.

Nautical and nice!  With the sweetest little anchor.  I already want to pinch the cheeks of the little kiddo wearing this outfit.  Nice find 3 Ring Circus!

Don’t let your kiddo get cold watching the fireworks!  Buy this dandy gingham-lined denim jacket from Etsy seller Sweet Shop Vintage.

Happy Monday!

Yee Haw! It’s time for the Vintage Kiddo Retro Round Up

Hello friendo!

It’s Alix here today. Did ya’ll have a great Father’s Day? The weather here was bee-yoo-ti-ful! We had an early Little League game with Wolfie and then a leisurely brunch… so nice! Of course I still managed to squeeze in a little evening of e-thrifting to scare up some really fun goodies for you guys.

First up is this crazy cute little 4T smocked dressie. Can’t you totally see a little girl wearing this while running through the summer grass, blowin’ bubbles?? From the fine folks at babycomeback.

These wee little size 5 toddler sneaks are just too adorable. Great for kickin’ around the playground! From fun Etsy seller tinsel and wheat.

And these little grey ones? Oh sheesh, too awesome! From the super cute ladies over at pussycat vintage (they’re a size 6 1/2! the shoes, that is…).

Oooh mama, if you have a little girlie who wears a 4 or 5 you’re in luck! This mod sunflower dress is too good. From volenskavintage.

This sweet little strawberry shortcake dressie will keep yer little lady cool and stylish all summer long! From our girl Amanda, over at kyssa vintage. No tag but she estimates it’s about a 12 month or so!

I think paint by numbers rock and these would look so adorable in a kiddo bedroom! From  hellcat vintage

Aaaaaaay! This tee is the bomb and has Wolfie’s name written all over it! I can’t even tell you how much I love it! Great for a 5-8 year old. From the sassy pants duo at robot parade for kids.

Heather, Heather, Heather…where do you find it all? I loved the little red gingham top but then realized it was part of a shortie set. KA-yoot! Yep. From 3 Ring Circus Vintage. Size 6-9 month.

I think a cool jacket is a great basic for kiddos and this lightweight zippy number is perfect! From my buddy Jeannette at sweet shop vintage. For a dapper 18-24 months.

She also has this mega rad vintage alphabet blocks. They’re made out of a plasticky material and  would be great for spelling out kiddo names on a shelf! Again from sweet shop vintage.

“Hello? Hello? Yes, hi…. it’s time to wash your hair kiddo!” This bubble bath phone keeels me. From Etsy seller Kirbybeaz.

Ahhh, Health-Tex is a stand by here at Modern Kiddo. Bold colors and cute details, but never too precious! Love the lace detail on the top, but kids will appreciate the comfy cotton. From the lovely stephaniepress. For a 12 month old.

Buster Brown made super cool shoes back in the day, but they also had a fun clothing line (tres Health Tex, I must say!). This stripey goodness is a size 2T. From the groovy star friends on earth.

It’s not easy being green, but it’s sure easy being cute in this little thang! (badum- bum!) I’m loving this awesome romper from my girl, Alicia at Lishy Loo Vintage.

If you’ve been a Modern Kiddo reader for a while, then you know I love the storybook charm of Irmi lamps….and this one does not disappoint! The hat on the whale? Fuggetaboutit!! From my sassy gal, fuzzy mama.

OK, one of my many other vintage obsessions are the Paper Dresses made in the sixties. I loooooove this paper play romper! “Disposable fashions to fling in – then fling out!”  It is marked a child’s size 10-12, but vintage runs small so I’m sure it would fit more of a size 8- 10. From the fun peeps over at coincidinky.

Thhhhhhat’s all for now folks! HAPPY MONDAY!

Vintage Kiddo Retro Round Up!

Hi hi Everyone, I’m back! I’ve been traveling for work last week and nutty busy going to estate sales, seeing cute new babies of wonderful friends and having missionary downfalls with family as the temperatures finally begin to warm up in the Bay Area. Huzzah!  Sadly, sleep has been rather elusive, but that means that I must turn to the darling Internet to amuse me with dandy vintage finds. And hoo-boy–did I find some gems.

So with no further ado–the round up!

This weekend I saw J.J. Abrams Super8, which was set in 1979 and revolved around a bunch of 12 year old boys.  I loved the movie, but I particularly loved the vintage  toys most of all that were shown in the background.  I grew up in a household of boys in the seventies, so I had vivid memories of them painting models like the ones featured in Super8.  And this sweet vintage Matilda van model kit made me smile ear to ear. From Ebay seller, reeds-real-deals.

I love little pastel vintage dresses and this sweet summer voile one is just perfection, perfection, perfection. From Ebay seller, msna2001.

I know transportation is a very popular theme for boys clothing, but I think this vintage Nascar white jumpsuit is a genius offshoot.  From Ebay seller, mooses12951.

As I child, my cousins and I would fight over which Village People character we would want to marry.  (Shaking head…) But I’m sure we would have fought over this brilliant vintage Macho Man t-shirt–in blue glitter no less! From our dear Robot Parade 4 Kids!

I love the great Stride Rite box almost as much as I love these great oxblood mary janes with the sweet Pilgrim buckle. From Etsy seller, White Wash.

I like to think that Glee’s Mister Shuester character is bringing vests back!  And you can start your little kiddo out right with one as sassy as this little plaid vintage friend!  From Ebay seller, nwiowarocks.

You know what would make a great puzzle? A smiling mama bird with a strawberry print kerchief carrying her baby birds in a nest on a branch riding a flower speckled turtle wearing a groovy red, white and blue hat. Well, hey! There it is! From Etsy seller, Aimee’s Scooter.

Gah! I had one of these when I was growing up and made soooooo many calls to Raggedy Ann, Mickey Mouse, and various characters from books with this gem. And it was so olde timey looking too! From our friends at Sweet Shop Vintage!

And the award for best product description this year goes to  Fuzzymama for describing this vintage smurfy gem of a puzzle, “100 pieces of musically inclined smurfs happily doing their thing.”  Genius.

I will do a feature next week on all Fourth of July U. S. of Yay vintage round up, but I HAD to share this wonderful little patriotic shirt with you all. I don’t know how 3 Ring Circus finds such great goodies!

One last one that was also featured in the main characters bedroom in Super8. And it would make the ultimate Father’s present too… You guessed it…

G.I. JOE! With kung-fu grip, natch.

I had to show a close up of that bristle head that I used to touch when I brothers weren’t look. It was the most bizarre texture ever. I love how this one has aged into salt and pepper.  From Ebay seller, Supercarsparts.

Happy Monday, friends!

Vintage Kiddo Retro Round Up!

I don’t know what was going on in your neck of the woods, but summer weather was not to be had in the Bay Area this weekend.  That didn’t stop me from having fun. Especially at this little estate sale where I bought more than 100 pieces of vintage flatware for $25.00. I can’t wait to shine ’em all up. They’ll go so nicely with some vintage willow ware, which I’m a bit in love with right now.

But I’m also happy with the grand goodies I found this weekend online for today’s Vintage Kiddo Retro Round Up! Enjoy, friends!

I am completely in love with this little ditty of a vintage dress. First off LOVE the red. And the little applique… Killing me.  From Ebay seller, mooses12951.

Well, Etsy seller, the Robot Parade did it again—found something so awesome that it is nearly killing me that it isn’t the Peach’s size. Because every now and then you need a piece of clothing that says what it is made out of–amirite?

As you know we do have something of a weak spot for seventies prairie dresses and this little vintage brown one is killing it! And I totally dig how Ebay seller Kingston Avenue Vintage styled it up.

You know we are big fans of the vintage Fisher Price toys. So, you can understand my delight when I saw this fully decked out airport! Please let me wipe the drool off the screen… from Ebay seller Saks 5th Thrift.

I love plaid and when it is the summer time, I love madras!  And I certainly smitten with these sweet little 4T overalls. Swoon! From Etsy seller, Little Reader Vintage.

I am quite intrigued at what would be involved in playing a game of The Waltons. Saying good night to everyone? Making moonshine? Fixing the chicken coop? I have no idea, but perhaps Ebay seller, cars8158 will know.

We are also tremendous lovers of Irmi lamps here at Modern Kiddo. So, we couldn’t say no to this whale of a lamp from Etsy seller Fuzzymama! Also, don’t forget that you could buy this lamp with the $50 gift certificate we are giving away this week with Fuzzymama. You can enter it here!

Miss Lish finds the best stuff! Like this great vintage children’s book of Peter Pan. Looks like it could be by Japanese master Kihachiro Kawamoto. Sweet!

I love yellow for babies. Both boys and girls. And this widdle two piece of vintage cuteness is adorable for a boy with its little boat, train and rocking horse. From Etsy seller, Ms. Tips!

I am still mourning the loss of my Dan Post cowboy boots that mysteriously disappeared. So it is only a matter of time before I buy a new pair of me and for the Peach. But until them, I have to share these red hot beauties with ya’ll. From Etsy seller, Fresh Lavender.

What a bang-up selection of goodies to start your week off right!

Happy Monday!
