My Palm Springs recap continues! When we went to Palm Springs a few months ago, I of course wanted to do a wee bit of shopping. There actually aren’t that many vintage stores in Palm Springs proper — there are lots of high end furniture shops, but not a lot of fun “lets poke around and discover some treasures!” kind of places. Here are two I think are worth a peek!
While waiting for breakfast at Cheeky’s, I wandered down to Deja Vu Vintage {664 N Palm Canyon Drive}. They have a beautifully curated collection of classic vintage dresses. Lots of fancy labels and evening gowns, so as a result, the prices are pretty darn spendy—but it’s a really lovely boutique and there are always fun, more affordable “finds” you can score if you really browse the racks!
I have to confess, my top fave place to visit for a vintage fix is Dazzles. This place is alllll about the quirky retro home and there are SO many glorious things crammed into this place. Michael, the owner, is FAAAABULOUS! I loved him. The housewares are colorful and they have an amazing selection of jewelry.
Ahhhhhh! How fun, no?? It make me want to run back down there. If you have more time than we had, there are some great thrift stores! And if you head outside of the city, the Rt 62 Vintage Marketplace in Yucca Valley is supposed to be really fun. My friends Danielle and Heather went to Pioneer Town just last weekend and it looks really quirky cool! If you have any tips or suggestions for other fun spots, please let me know!
i love dazzles!!! the awesome owner used to own a vintage shop in LA before he packed up and moved to palm springs. We would frequently visit the LA shop and it too was amazing!
yep! Love Dazzles. And the owner is originally from Atlanta! You can see more pics of our visit to Dazzles on my blog here: http://thompsonfamily.typepad.com/thompson_familylife/2012/10/dazzles-palm-springs-ca-vintage-boutique.html : )
