It’s my gorgeous gal, Alix’s birthday today! Right now, she’s on a much deserved vacation with her family to Michigan and is hopefully relaxing at the lake house after a fun filled day of thrifting.  I’m sure she’s gotten tons of hugs and kisses from Wolfie and Greg and extra love for her parents who get to share her birthday with her this year–what a treat!

You gotta love Alix! She’s such a gorgeous gal with a great personality, fabulous style and so darn funny–oh lawdy!  I’ve nearly shipped my pants laughing so hard at some of the things she’s say!

We have been on a lovely vacation visiting both sets of grandparents. First stop? Myrtle Beach! It is hot and humid like CRAZY there (103 with humidity) but these Californians love it. One of my favorite things to do is drive around down by the beach and check out all the old hotel signs. So many cool ones!

We found this last casuality laying in the parking lot of the Carnival hotel—and don’t think we didn’t think about trying to cram it into the overhead bin on the airplane home!!!

Hi friends! Summer is coming to Modern Kiddo on the late side. After a very busy crazy year, Alix and I are both taking some vacation trips this August. Actually quite a few…

Between the two of us, we’ll be hanging in a beach town,  relaxing at the lake house, drinking tiki drinks poolside with friends, camping in the forest, and doing some international travel. Wheee!! Can you tell we’re excited? We are!
