Valley of the Paper Dolls // 1960s style

Yup, today we’re talking’ vintage paper dolls! When I was a kiddo, I loved my paper dolls. I think they were one of the first things that got me interested in fashion! I thought my paper dolls were totally stylin’ but I have to say that they paled in comparison to these dollies. Plucked from the 60s (1967 and 1969 to be exact!) their fashions are bold, colorful and soooo cool. Let’s have a little look-see:

Did you notice the front of the box of those last two? “OUTFITS STICK BY MAGIC!” Hee. No pesky tabs here, our mods love the magic!

Ahhhh! how cute is mod missy with her Mod Mag?? Also, is it wrong to covet a doll’s wardrobe? Seriously, I think I would wear any one of those outfits myself. Did you play with paper dolls when you were a kid?

Chairman of the Board // Rich Uncle

I love vintage boardgames. They’re lots of fun to play but they also have excellent graphics. Often I find games that are simply older versions of current games—CLUE, Battleship, and Go to the Head of the Class. But I love it when I stumble upon a game I’ve never heard of before. Like RICH UNCLE!

This quirky game board stands vertically by attaching to the side of the open box, and has 36 different spaces that correspond with the possible dice results. Oh and apparently the “Rich Uncle” is Uncle Pennybags, the portly, top hat wearing fella from Monopoly! Who knew?? He looks a bit different here because this is the 1965 edition of the game.

What are some of your favorite board games to play? We’re partial to Clue, Trouble, Monopoly (Wolfie got Monopoly Millionaire for Christmas…I’m a fan of Monopoly Jr., which has a shorter game time than the original—which can last FOREVERRRRRR).

Vintage Kiddo Cuteness

Oh what a wonderful weekend I’ve had! Eric went away for a good chunk of the weekend, so the Peach and I had some very necessary GIRL TIME, which started with breakfast out and then involved  some crafting and shopping and playing and hugging and kissing! We had the best time.  But during the Peach’s little nap, I found some sweet items I wanted to share with you all.

So, let’s HIT IT!

What girl doesn’t need a little capelet?  I know I do! From Etsy seller, Bug & Bear Vintage.

I think of all of the different, wonderful rompers I’ve seen, but this is my all time favorite one.  That little front detail and the plaid are so so so darling. Sigh! From Etsy seller, the Woods Children.
