Want, Need, Wear, Read // Arianne Segerman

After three boys this is my first Christmas really shopping for my baby girl. Last year she was just a newborn, and this year she is fully embracing her girly girl self, and I love it! Here is my River’s wish list:
want // River is is obsessed with strollers and carts and anything she can push babies in. This wooden doll pram fits that category, and is the kind of item that can become an heirloom piece.
need // As baby girl’s toy collection grows, she is starting to need a stylish piece to contain and coral all her lovely things. I love the creative way the lid comes off this modern toy box.
wear // My daughter just grew out of her first pair of Freshly Picked moccasins, so it’s time for her next pair. The price might seem higher than your usual budget, but these are built to last and might become your baby’s main shoe. She is partial to the brown suede in a size 4, just in case you’re wondering…
read // I’m obsessed with these wooden storybooks. Plain and simple. And no little fragile pages for my baby to demolish. Love!
Are you shopping for a baby girl this season? I’d love to hear your favorites too!

Want, Need, Wear, Read // Rachel Denbow

Hi guys! Here are my picks for the Fab Four!

1.Want // When it comes to toys, we love to invest in pieces that will last for more than a month or two and can be enjoyed by both of our kids. Of course, our kids still get their fair share of plastic toys each year but these wooden pieces are usually the ones that they stay interested in. This set from Plan Toys will surely last through many teddy bear tea parties or early morning baking sessions!

2.Need // It gets really cold at night here in Colorado so we’re always layering blankets on the kids’ beds. I can usually count on finding a vintage afghan at a great price point on Etsy when my local thrifts don’t have any.
3.Wear // Since we’ve been promised snow throughout the winter we’ve stepped up the outerwear to something warm and waterproof. That doesn’t mean they can’t still look their best out there! This jacket from Polarn O. Pyret is just perfect.
4.Read // We have loads of books at home for reading so I’ve been looking for books that inspire creative play. I also love supporting fellow bloggers who’ve written their own books! This one by Joel (of Made By Joel, and also one of the few male bloggers out there!) focuses on fun projects for kids. I think my own kids would love it.

Want, Need, Wear, Read // Pilgrim Lee

hello friends! it’s hard to pick just four, but here are some  current faves that I think my son Donovan would looove!

want: vintage space lego sets! Donovan is crazy about space, and is really getting into building with lego. But contemporary lego is all about star wars, which we’re not into, so some late 70s legoland space sets are on my christmas ebay watch list! The old sets had so much more scope for imaginitive play than the licensed character sets that seem to have taken over lego.

need: my son really needs more room to play and work in his bedroom, so a loft bed is in our future! The alex loft bed is just the bed for the job: very cool retro-futuristic style both me and the kid would be pleased to find under the christmas tree! He’s excited about sleeping up high, and i’m excited about what a cool piece of furniture that is!

wear: rainbow bright hi-top sneakers from kawaii kids. shh! don’t tell, but these are already wrapped and awaiting christmas morning. Donovan loves rainbows, and mama loves 80s throwback style. Everyone wins!

read: The kid’s love of space has lead him to a growing interest in the science at work in outer space—but that is definitely not my area of expertise! So i think he’s really going to love learning from “wonderful life with the elements” by Bunpei Yorifuji. Itsan illustrated guide to the periodic table where every element is a unique character whose properties are represented visually: heavy elements are fat, man-made elements are robots, and noble gases sport impressive afros. Every detail is significant, from the length of an element’s beard to the clothes on its back. What a fun and silly way to learn, right?!
