Friday Link Hootenany :: Cool Stuff to Browse

Here are some things that caught my eye over the past week!

1. PRETTY VINTAGE INSPIRED JEWELRY from Nest Pretty Things. I think these are so lovely—the color combinations are espectially fetching for little girls and mamas.

2. DR. SEUSS HAD A BIRTHDAY! He is one of my tippy top favorites. From Cat in the Hat to One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish, I love them all! They even made Green Eggs and Ham at Wolfie’s school, which was super cute.

3. JEWELRY HOLDER from POLLI I am utterly smitten with these! Only problem is I don’t have pierced ears, but how cool are they??

4. OSCARS. Welllllllll, they were a little “meh” but I loved Anne Hathaway’s many gowns. And while I never really like what Helena Bonham Carter is wearing, I still totally love her. Her expression as they announced her nomination said to me, “THIS is a woman I’d love to hang out with!”

5. WALLPAPER. Is it weird that I am obsessing on my own post?? I need some photographic wall paper STAT.

6. GINGHAM. I love it. Wolfie’s got so many ginham shirts now he’s gonna look like a picnic this summer—but a verrrry stylish one.

The one above is from Zara Kids. But I’ve seen them at Target and even Walmart, for the more budget minded.

7. THIS “UP” THEMED BIRTHDAY PARTY is all kinds of fabulous! (That’s “Up” like the Pixar movie!) It was for a sweet little 7 year old, and they projected the movie on a sheet in the backyard. SO great! I especially love the wreath made out of balloons. See more here.

8. Did I mention I met Al Pacino this week?? Hee.

9. PRETTY FRECKLE FELT FLOWERS. Six years ago Jenny sent me some adorable felt flower hairpins. I love them to this day….they are so playful and sweet. After much begging, she is making them again! I highly recommend ’em for mamas and kiddos alike!

10. OUR ETSY GUEST CURATOR ROUND UP. It was both an honor and a pleasure to be invited to Guest Curate the Etsy blog. If you haven’t stopped by, please head on over and check it out! I’m really proud of what we put together—our four different collections were inspired by classic kid’s books (which as you know are a passion of mine!). I love it so much I’m thinking of making this a regular feature over here too! Here is just one of them:

Have you seen the latest issue of adorable  La Petit Magazine? It’s filled with some gorgeous stuff…loads of great kiddo fashion and inspiring images! Rachelle has such great style and I’m always inspired by her finds.

5. Mmmm. This Citrus Sour Cream Rainbow Cake is Bangin’.

The mega faboosh Vintage Sugarcube’s recipes are usually a little more grown up (hello muscle men baring zuccini bread…along with their pecs), but her sour cream citrus rainbow cake topped with cotton candy will make the kiddos swoon. Or collapse in a happy sugar coma.

6. A Tasty Stitch.

I’m not a sewin’ kinda gal, but I thought this adorable embroidery pattern from the groovy doe-c-doe just might make me want to try.

Link Lovin’ Friday.

Oh Friday Friday, one of my bestest days of the week! So glad you are here my friend…and so glad YOU are here too, lovely readers. Just wanted to share some fun things with you that caught my eye this past week:

Summer has kicked into high gear and I’m sure many of you have little roadtrips and family outtings planned. I loved this sweet USA cork board that the lovely Grace over at ever-inspiring design*sponge created as a fun way to map out your travels. I think it would be really fun to make one shaped like your state (HOLLA MICHIGAN!).

To find out how to make one of these for yourself, swing by design*sponge.

My friend Jenny turned me on to her sweet pal Andrea of Hula Seventy. She’s officially on the top of my list of “Girlies I Need to Know Better”. Her photography is so dreamy and these snaps from their summer of Road Trippin’ makes me smile.

Find more awesomeness over at Hula 70.

Our sweet pals Jamie and Jacinda at Prudent Baby always have such fun crafty ideas. I love these red, white and blue jelly beans pouches.

Complete instructions over at Prudent Baby. Or, you know, bribe someone crafty like Dottie to help you out.

Speaking of my Crafty Gal Pal, THIS ONE GOES OUT TO YOU MISS DOTTIE! You are a little slice of heaven, lady. Thanks for being such an awesome travel buddy last weekend! *mwuah!*

Found on Scissoring via Grosgrain Fabulous.

One of my other favorites is the brilliant Teri over at Giddy Giddy. Look at this adorable Fourth of July romper she made! Yeah. Vintage Rhino fabric?? So good.

Find even more inspiration over at Giddy Giddy.

My darling girl Pilgrim is so thoughtful. Even though she’s an Aussie, she did this bang up 4th of July Etsy roundup just for her State-side pals! As usual, she has read my mind and procured a charming collection of EVERYTHING I LOVE. Sigh.

Don’t forget we have an AMAZING $50 Gift Certificate giveaway happening for Draw! Pilgrim. Enter today!

One of my new favorite finds is Make Something Happy, from the ladies of Rock, Scissor, Paper. I loved this flashback post they did on last Fourth of July where they had a CAKE vs PIE throw down party! What a cool idea, huh.

Just in case you were wondering….CAKE WON! Check out the full Cake vs Pie Battle over at Make Something Happy. It’s awesome.

And finally….a little Fourth of July Sweet Treat for you to watch with the Kiddos. This little short from animation rockstars PES just makes me smile. Fireworks + Peeps= AWESOMENESS. Hope you dig it!

Have a super duper HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY my friends! We will be in a BBQ induced food coma on Monday and taking the day off. We’ll be back again on Tuesday and will expect a full report on yer weekend. Over and out!

Modern Kiddo Link Lovin’

OH thank the lordy it’s FRIDAY people—we made it to another weekend. Before we sign off, I wanted to share with you guys some really cute stuff that caught my eye this week!

We talk a lot about thrifting vintage kid’s clothing, but don’t forget about vintage kid’s books and games. Just take a look at these adorable sewing cards that Elsie found over on A Beautiful Mess. I love them!

Oh man, Irene over at Bloesem Kids must have the Cool Kiddo Room Hot Line, because she never disappoints. Check out this amazing circus bedroom:

Joel, the uber awesome papa over at Made by Joel, is always rustlin’ up cool art projects for his kiddos. I was particularly charmed by the simplicity of these groovy tin can telephones.

I don’t have a baby anymore, but these adorable handmade swaddle clothes over at Prudent Baby had me going, “Awwww!”

Last weekend Dottie and I went to thee most fabulous retro-styled Tupperware party! Who knew they still had Tupperware parties, eh? But our hostesses made this a grand affair, complete with deviled eggs and pigs in a blanket! Check it out over at Strawberry Lemonade:

While my child is extremely finnicky , I still like to dream of the day when he munches eagerly on an asparagus and goat cheese tart. The adorable Phyllis at Dash & Bella cooks up some pretty amazing recipes with her two kiddos. Thanks to Heather of 3 Ring Circus who sent me that hot tip!

Oh, and finally……don’t forget to enter our cutie cute Simply Silhouettes Giveaway!

Have an awesome weekend friends. We’ll catch ya on MONDAY!
