Holiday Magic Vintage Kiddo Retro Round Up!

Well, hopefully by now the last remnants of Thanksgiving can only be found in that great turkey pot pie you are serving tonight. Because from now to the end of the year, it’s GAME ON! Yup, the holidays are finally strolling on over and it’s time to break out our best and cutest vintage goodies to help your kiddos woo Santa Claus or Hanukkah Harry, or more importantly the grandparents to get your Tinker Toys and Lincoln Logs.

Yes, Virginia there is a perfect plaid dress! With ric-rac and peter pan collar to boot! Etsy seller, Flour Clothing found the perfect little dress holiday dress.

But paisley is just as welcome as plaid at the holiday party.  Check out this charming dress that would be perfect for all tinsel-laden festivities.  Vintage Helen Lee and 100 percent authentic  adorableness! From Ebay, Assortment of Appeal.

But enough of the dresses. Let’s get to the gents, shall we? With this dapper little tie. Santa couldn’t possibly leave any charcoal for the fellow wearing this tie! From Etsy seller, Funkoma Vintage.

The perfect match for that tie?  Why this cherry red vest of course! From Etsy seller, Hart & Sew. Natch!

This Wool Austrian cape is just perfection for any little girl. Makes me want to go caroling just looking at it!   From Etsy seller, Pink Suitcase Vintage.

Connect with your child’s inner Laura Ingalls by purchasing  this vintage prairie skirt for her.  Nellie Olson would have been green with envy over it.

I’ll take your plaid and raise it with Santa skiing on it.  Perfect outfit for crawling over to the tree to grab some of those low hanging ornaments, eh?

Both these gems are from our Lishyloo, who actually has more than 60 items in her holiday vintage kiddo section.
If your holiday plans  involve lounging with some hot chocolate at the chalet, we have the perfect apres ski sweater for your little one to wear after showing off  his or her  mad ski skills on the bunny hill! From Etsy seller, Pirate B00ty, again!

Velvet dresses go hand in hand with the holidays.  And with this dressie with the ric-rac apron is killing me with cuteness!  From Etsy seller, LissaBee89.

And what would the holidays be without a couple of sweet vintage holiday books to read as you wait for Santa to eat his cookies Christmas Eve?  From Etsy seller, Rush of Wings.

Happy Monday, everyone!

Vintage Kiddo Retro Round up!

Well, count down to turkey day. And boy oh boy am I looking forward to four straight days of time off.  Unfortunately my RSI is acting up, so I’m going to keep it brief and just focus on the truly fabulous finds of vintage awesomeness!

OK—I know it is totally naughty of me to post something summery as we are looking down the barrel of winter, but I would not be right of me to post this nautical number with a Mondrian go-go twist to boot! But this is one to buy now and save for summer in my opinion. (Ahem, Jody… ) How can you part with it Frecklewonder??

While we’re at it, I know it is wrong to show something as summery as this adorable baby dress with matching knickers, but it’s so cute, really, how could I not?  And isn’t it warming up quite nicely in Australia, Pilgrim?  From the always wonderful Robot Parade.

Speaking of warming up, check out this adorable coat it’s togglerific!  From eBay seller, Flying Debris!

Check out these sweet widdle corduroy slippers featuring the rare green polka dotted bunny! From eBay seller, CJSBargains.

Because the thermometer has the gaul to slink downward for the next couple of months, I just had to include another coat. But this one comes with a hat AND a cat.   From Etsy seller, Aunt Sue’s Old and New.

Clearly I’m all about coats today, but really, how could I look you all straight in the face and NOT post this Disneytastic pair of white patent Mary Janes.  Do you see the little mouse heads inside? And the heart cut-outs?  Sigh.  Again, from eBay seller, CBSBargains.

This little owly shirt is a hoot!  From Etsy seller, Vintage from Finland.  (This Etsy stop is totally worth a closer look!)

It seems that there is a dearth of cool vintage sweaters for boys.  So I was quite chuffed to find this cutie! Velvet! For boys! From Etsy seller FuzzyMama.

Oh, and the ADORABLENESS of this set!  Sweater pants with matching booties.  If that doesn’t keep that tiny bottom warm I don’t know what will! Never worn, but hopefully will be soon. Nudge nudge… Thanks for the find 3 Ring Circus!

OK—this isn’t really something to wear… I mean, as a crafty lady, I don’t think I could let one teaspoon of applesauce get on such stunning embroidery that took so much time.  But wouldn’t these embroidered bibs be the cutest thing EVER on the wall above a crib?  Seriously. I DIE. From Etsy seller, BabyComeBack.

We have a full holiday vintage kiddo round-up in the works, so be sure to check back here next week!

AND be sure to pop by in a few hours, for Alix has something very special for the ladies coming up this afternoon…

The Return of the Vintage Kiddo Retro Round Up!!

Hurrah! We are back!!  And we’ve missed ya’ll something fierce! We’ve been heartbroken over our site shenanigans, but don’t you worry, we are back with oodles of goodies and fun things ahead! Just you wait.

But enough chit chat—I spent the weekend returning to some of my favorite online haunts to bring you some super sassy vintage goodness for your wee ones.  So… ON WITH THE SHOOOOOWWW!!!

Let’s start with something so sweet that it makes cotton candy look like cauliflower.  Can I haz cheeseburger? Perhaps not, but you can own this divine little shirt from the divine Frecklewonder.

Check out this rompertastic little goodie with an applique lion. You know how we feel about lions here at MK headquarters… From Etsy seller, Lisagrahamgram4m3a.

This little dress is dedicated to The Devil-Ettes because that Mondrian style color-blocking is pure Devil-Ettes. From Etsy seller, Fuzzymama.

Be it ever so humble, there is nothing cuter than these little overalls.  From eBay seller, 1marcella.

What could possibly make a darling tweed vintage jacket even cuter? How about some embroidered flowers?  Oh and don’t even talk about the red buttons.  Perfect for the winter months…  From Etsy seller, Oh Sydney. Oh, and the coat is FIVE DOLLARS!!!

If you are going to wear a sweater with dinosaurs, you must make sure they are wearing hats.  And fortunately, Etsy seller, StellaBluz has one available. Phew!

Somewhere out there its yachting weather.  And wherever that is a little girl could be wearing this darling tunic and pants set. outfit.  From Etsy seller Annalee.

it’s scarecrow season and corduroy season, so let’s combined the two in the wonderful harvest time overalls from our girl Lishyloo!

I have a long history of loving pinstripes in unusual places. And a little girl certainly isn’t a place to find them, but aren’t they cute when combined with little heart flowers? What a great find Pirate B00ty!

The Etsy seller, Crissywrong titled this shirt as 18-24 months of awesomeness. And really, who am I do say no to that? The only thing I can say is that it is only $14.00. FOURTEEN DOLLARS, PEOPLE. Crissy Wrong, your name should be Crissy RIGHT for finding this gem!

I have to list this wonderful little jacket because my sweetie Eric just bought pretty much the same thing! Perfect for your little Mad Men gent in the making! From our gal, 3 Ring Circus.

We started this round up with a squeak from a mouse and we’ll a lion’s roar with this terrific little winter jacket ready to brave whatever Jack Frosts tosses our way! From Etsy seller, the Fancy Tail.

Happy Monday, people and I’m so very happy we are back!

Tweedlebop :: The Super Rad Putrid Pal 2010 Halloween Mix

I am very fortunate to know a lot of groovy artists. One of the coolest guys around these parts is Michael Fleming, aka Tweedlebop! I met him several years ago when he did some cool artwork for the Devil-Ettes and then again for The Time Outs. His work always makes me smile.

I selected some of his more spooky artwork for this post, but his style is so versatile and groovy—I think it would be excellent decor in any hip little kiddo’s bedroom!

Michael is the creator of a wildly popular comic called The Putrid Pal which he describes as:

The Putrid Pal is an undead French boy who lives under the sea. He just wants a good friend to play with, but none of the non-monster kids of Woe Beach want to have anything to do with him. He grunts out single words from time to time—but only in French.

Hee. How awesome is that? You can even buy a little urban vinyl doll of Putrid Pal.

Every year Michael makes a super duper groovy Halloween mix of totally cool vintage vinyl tunes—think spooktacular surf rock and 50s and 60s coolness. Trust me, you will not be disappointed!! I was so thrilled when I got an email from Michael about this year’s mix. It’s so awesome! And guess what? You can download it HERE! I promise that you and the kiddos will be groovin’ around the house on Halloween to this one!

HURRAY MICHAEL! I think you’ll think he’s as awesome as I do.

Be sure to visit the Tweedlebop web site to see more of his terrific work. You can also swing by the Tweedlebop shop and scoop up prints of your own and of course if you download the mix, won’t you please swing by the Tweedlebop Facebook page and become a fan? As ze Putrid Pal would say, “Merci.”

Vintage Kiddo Retro Round up!

I know I did a very spooktacular round up of vintage kiddo goodness last week, but there were some sweet goodies for the round-up that would be awesome every day of the week regardless of a holiday.

With the rain coming down this weekend, I sure could have used a pair of these jaunty red boots with with straps to keep the Peach’s little footies nice and dry!  From eBay seller, paradea.

Danielle Thompson loves a good vintage shoe for her boys. So, Danielle, get a load of these multi-colored suede cuties. From eBay seller, Sweetphemera.

This little mod stripey dress is genius, no?  Red and white stripe without looking too holiday is very impressive.  From eBay seller, retro*cool.

Retro cardigans are big in boys fashion right now, and they are based on beauties like this green goodie.  From eBay seller, cowtown’s revenge.

Ooh, this little rose applique faux blouse dress with matching jacket is quite the steal and so charming to boot! From eBay seller, Princesskelvis.

You know boys clothing in bigger sizes are very rare to find. And in good condition, well, that makes it even tougher and this is why this seventies deadstock boys shirt in size 8 is a wonderful find. From eBay seller, rekroom. Oh and psst…. this is one of many boys shirts thiis eBay seller has…

I always have a thing for bunny applique and you must check out this very cheeky bunny vintage overalls.  From Etsy seller, Mother Midnight.

What little kiddo doesn’t love a good choo choo train sweater? Thanks 3 Ring Circus for finding this shirt that would be any little one’s favorite sweater.

Now this might be one of my favorite favorite pieces this week.  A little scarecrow of cuteness on a pretty black and white dress. Perfect late fall dressie to wear, don’t you think?  From our girl Lishyloo.

I love Etsy seller, MidState Vintage for many reason. Like finding these gorgeous little dresses like this one and also with very charming modern styling to go with it.

This looks like something a young Sonja Henning would wear.  Blue velvet hat with white rabbit fur. Squee! Makes me want to take out holiday ornaments. From Etsy seller, Ms. Tips.

Happy Monday!
