Meet Sophia! Our Weekly Kiddo!

Gather ’round friends, it’s time for our favorite feature! This week we have a super cute little munchkin to share with you….four year old Sophia! Her nickname is Fia (cuuuuute!) and she is one stylish little minx. Just you wait and see!

How cute is this little girl?? So the cool thing about Miss Fia is that her mama is an amazing seamstress and MAKES a lot of her clothing. I’m so impressed! You can read all about it and even get patterns on her site, Sevi Designs. Just take a gander at this:

Can you believe that adorable dress was made without a pattern?? Yup, mama Katherine was winging it! Read about it here.

This halter dress is just adorable:

SO CUTE! Check out the tutorial here on her blog.

Next up, another dress made by mama:

I adore that matching fabric hair flower. Find out how to do it all HERE.

OK, finally something store bought! (It’s about time, you were makin’ me look bad Katherine! hee) This one is an Oshkosh Pink hoodie tee and Sophia’s super cute trademark crochet hat with flower from Etsy seller, Elle Bows & More.

I’m soooo into these hats. She is like a little bohemian flapper, flower child!

Hurray for Fia! I can’t tell you how in awe I am of Katherine’s dresses. Sooo fabulous and crafty! She tells us that Miss Sofia is a sassy little firecracker, with an awesome personality and great sense of humor! Even though she loves her girlie hats and dresses, she also loves to play in the dirt , swing and slide! She is a great helper and  you’ll often find her toting a big watering can around to water her mama’s flowers. When the weather is warm out she hops on her scooter and goes for a ride! At the end of a long day playing hard, Fia loves her bath time and then a great snuggle. Awwww, Fia we sure think you’re sumpthin’ special! Thank you soo much Katherine for sharing her with us! Be sure to swing by Sevi Designs for all kinds of fabulous tutorials and sewing inspiration!

Meet Kingston! Our Weekly Kiddo.

Modern Kiddo is an international affair and we love to see kids from all over the world! Our last “out of towner” was the adorable Donovan from Australia. This week we didn’t have to travel very far to find a stylish lad. Meet Kingston! Kingston hails from the lovely city of Toronto, Canada and is 22 Months old (he’ll be 2 in September). This little guy just makes me grin with his dapper sense of style.

When its time for a snackie Kingston love love loves berries! His sweet mama Brandy says he won’t eat much for veggies (i feel your pain sistah!), but he could nom on “boberry, wasbery, and sawberys” (Blueberries, Raspberries and Strawberries) all day long.

Kingston is a huge fan of all moving vehicles, but “firecucks”, “pece cars” and “choo choos” top the list. Of course his favourite toys are his Hot Wheels! He also loves music and can’t get enough of the awesome castle his mommy and daddy made for him (check it out here on his mommy’s blog. It’s pretty adorable.) Brandy tells us that Little Kingston is also an awesome big brother to his little sister, baby Harlow. She also had this super cute story about him:

“Just yesterday when we left the house, he noticed how hot it was outside. “Mommy, Hot!” he said, then he started to blow on the sun (try to) to cool it down, like we taught him to do when his food is hot!” Brandy he sounds like an awesome little guy! Thanks so much for sharing him with us!

Meet Kenzington. Our Weekly Kiddo!

I’m so excited to share this week’s Kiddo with you guys. We always try to offer up a range of styles—sometimes more vintage inspired, sometimes a little more indie, sometimes more basics etc etc.  I think our sweet girlie this week offers up a really fun and unique style…to me it’s a little bit of an Indie Bohemian. Oooooh, I’ve piqued yer interest now, haven’t I?? Well just you wait folks. Meet Kenzington! You may recognize her a Kenzie from the awesome blog Kenziepoo. She is the sweet daughter of blogger extraordinaire, Rachelle Wilde. Rachelle is passionate about design and one of my favorite features she does is “Turn this Room Into an Outfit“. Such a cool idea. But back to baby. Little Kenzie’s style is pretty adorable! And as hip and “on trend” as these little duds are, she still looks like a darling little girl. I’m a BIG fan of this, people. Kids should look like kids! OK, on with the show. Meet the magnificent, KENZIE!

I love how the sweet little silver ballerina slippers and amazing leggings make this look hip, while the little dressie keeps her totally sweet! Big props to Kenzie for wearing adorable head gear. Wolfie was such a stubborn kid and refused to wear hats—even as a baby.

I just love her sweet little smile and rosey cheeks. What a cherub this girl is! So her mama tells us that Kenzie is full of joy! She loves talking, eating, making faces and, of course,  playing with her Mommy and Daddy.

Kenzie loves story time and her favorite books are: A Child’s Day, An Alphabet of Play, and ABC3D by Marion Bataille. Her favorite toys (at the moment!) are her stuffed animals. She and her family just got back from Disney World recently so her Disney character stuffed animals are in high rotation. She is obsessed with “Gooby”(AKA: Goofy), and “Dondald” (AKA Donald) as she affectionately calls them. Rachelle says, “I just recently bought Kenzie a little kitchen for her playroom and she will play with it for hours. She loves to make her Daddy & Mommy delicious fake food!!” When asked what her favorite treat or food is, Rachelle told us, “Kenzie is currently obsessed with cereal. IShe is always asking Momma for “More cereal please!” I think she would eat it all day if I would let her!” I love a good bowl of cereal myself, so I think you have excellent taste little lady! Thank you Rachelle for sharing this totally adorable little girlie with us! Be sure to pop by Kenziepoo for more of Kenzington and loads of design/style inspiration!

Meet Cam! Our Weekly Kiddo.

Happy Friday everyone.  Let’s just jump right in, shall we? This week we have the adorable Campbell. Oh little Campbell, what a cutie you are! We don’t get that many boy submissions for Weekly Kiddo (hint hint, ye momma’s of boys) but when we do they are CUTE as can be. This little man lives hails from Hotlanta and is a big boy at 3 years old. His mama is the super lovely Danielle of Thompson Family Blog—a fantastic bloggie filled with gorgeous photos and boat loads of inspiration. She is wildly creative so it’s no surprise that her little guy dresses amazingly. These first two photos are from when he was a liddle kiddo, but he was so stylin’ I just had to show ya. Let’s begin!

This rockin’ jumper ensemble is from  Etsy seller Katrina Kaye. That little tufty of hair kills me!

How cute is this look? Just like Cam’s mama, we’re big fans of the Scandinavian inspired prints from Smafolk at Ittikid.

This adorable retro-repro Beatles shirt came from our fave big brand, Target.

A few weeks ago we did a designer spotlight on the amazing Mirjam of  Kinchi so I was thrilled to see Cam sportin’ the Kinchi too!

How cute is this kiddo??

I fell in love with this little shirt—it’s rather reminiscent of one of my fave Euro brands, Oilily. How cool to find out this came from Etsy seller Little Overcoat and is entirely recycled and reworked. Fabulous! The sweet fedora style hat is from Target (men’s dept.). Wolfie has a bunch of hats from the grownup dept too—what can I say, he’s got a big ol noggin’ just like his mama!

Aw, the littlest cowpoke is wearing a totally vintage cowboy outfit. LOVE THIS! His dashing big brother Cooper is making a guest appearance as Harry Potter. Danielle, your boys are too much fun….so cute!

Aw, here is the lovely Danielle with her little man. Such a sweet pair.

Danielle tells us that Cam is a total sweetie. He is really into playing with toys like cars and animals, but his absolute favorite these days are trains—especially Thomas the Tank Engine. When snack time rolls around his favorites are chocolate and popsicles. Cam is very close to his big brother and loves to run around and laugh with him. It’s pretty clear this is one sweet little boy. Cam, we luv ya!

Meet Violet! Our Weekly Kiddo:

Hello friends….whoo hoo, we have a three day weekend on the horizon and I couldn’t be happier! I’m so looking forward to a little BBQ-ing and hanging out with good friends.

Speaking of good friends I have a very special little Kiddo for you this week. Earlier this year, we were thrilled when my little man Wolfie was a finalist in the NEXT Direct Children’s Modeling Competition. I had never entered him in anything like that before, but with a $100,000 College Scholarship as part of the bounty, I couldn’t resist. I was nervous as we flew to L.A for our weekend of fun and photo sessions—would Wolfie even enjoy the experience? Would it be stressful? And most importantly, would there be CRAZY STAGE MOMS???? Thankfully Wolfie had an amazing time and I met so many lovely mamas.

One of those was Kirrily and her simply gorgeous daughter Violet. You’re going to think these photos are all professional modeling shots, but Kiri took them all herself. Wait til you see this child! Kiri is extremely stylish herself and loves to play around with fashion—she says she is a sucker for Dutch and French children’s wear and you can tell that Violet (aka Vivi) is a little stylista in the making! Violet often models for the Darling Divas Boutique (which, as an aside, has fab prices right now) and her mama has worked out an awesome trade system where she takes photos and often gets to keep the clothing. I love it! OK friends, on with the show!

OK sassafrass, check out this little charmer rockin’ her Oilily tank and skirt! The amazing boots are by Catimini.

Violet’s “signature” trademark is her sassy flower hair clip (made by her clever mama!). We hear they are all the rage at her preschool and all the little ladies are dying to have one now too! (Is it wrong that I enjoy wearing a large, preschool style flower in my hair too??)

This cool look is from Aussie brand, Paperwings.

This hot pink sun dress is from Eliane et Lena and is so gorgeous on our girl, Vivi!

This cutie Polka Dot Romper from Mim-Pi has a very vintage look—check out that smocking on the top! Violet looks cool, comfy and adorable.

I love the headband twist on the flower…and the little kissing deer tee is adorable.

This is just about the chicest little kiddo I’ve ever seen, my friends. This modern dress is from Euro brand, Jottum. (via Mode Kids)

What a beauty! Violet’s style is lovely but I think what makes her so fab is that she still looks like a little girl—one who likes to run, play and laugh! Her mama tells us that she loves to stand out in the crowd and while pink and dresses are top of the list, she also enjoys wearing funkier things. We asked Kiri to tell us a little bit more about Violet:

“Vivi is just the sweetest little girl with the happiest, most delightful, joyous and loving personality! Despite her enjoyment of all things pink and pretty, she is kind of tom boyish in a lot of her activities. She is super athletic and loves running, playing soccer, swimming, and gymnastics. She has a 6 year old brother she plays hard with and tries very hard to keep up with! She loves building with Legos and is also a major puzzle junkie.”

How awesome is it that this little lovely slip of a girl is also athletic and can run with the best of them?? HURRAY Violet! Kiri, thank you soooo much for sharing this sweet little girl with us.
