Meet California Girls: Audrey & Audrey!

One of our most popular features over here at Camp Kiddo is the Weekly Kiddo—when we take a look at what some sassy and stylish real kids are wearing. I was sorting through my submissions and realized I had two adorable little girls who were due their turn—and they had some fun similarities. Both live in California, both are named Audrey and both are extremely adorable! One lives in LA and one in SF, so I thought it might be fun to do a little SoCal/NoCal tribute to these two sweet girls. California girls, take it away!!

MEET Audrey!
This vivacious little four year old cutie is from Los Angeles and just exudes happy energy. She was named after the glamorous Audrey Hepburn (her sweet mama Christy saw Breakfast at Tiffany‘s in highschool and, like so many of us, was hooked!). Her lovely daughter lives up to her name sake. Check out these fun photos!

+ Upcycled Chanel-inspired necklace with chains and rosettes. SO cute! from Itty Bitty Love.

Look at that smile on that girl! Miss Audrey is a big fan of all things princess. She also loves drawing, crafting (just like her talented mommy!) and dancing in her ballet class. She has a big personality and is just loads of fun! The other little cutie pictured is her little brother Aaron. He loves to follow everything that his big sister does—and his mama tells us it’s not uncommon for us to find him wearing a tiara or running around with cheer leading pom poms in his hands! (I am willing to bet those pictures will be brought out when someone is a teenager! heehee!)

So that would be PLENTY of cuteness for one day, but we’re not done yet! You’re not seeing things, we have ANOTHER adorable Audrey, only this one is from San Francisco!

MEET another Audrey!
This adorable miss is nearly four years old and is such a little sweetie pie! She too is named after the glamorous Audrey Hepburn and has always loved dressing up. With her big grin and infectious giggles, she brings a smile to everyone around her. Let’s take a look at what this wee charmer has in her closet!

What a cutie! Little Miss Audrey unapologetically loves anything princess and anything pink. She enjoys walks and hikes and loves learning the names of flowers. When she’s not playing princess or running around with her brother Miles, you’ll find her dancing and singing. Audrey has roots in New Orleans and she loooves discovering new foods with her awesome mama Lynn! Miss Audrey is an adventurous eater and she and her mama often have lunch at food carts and restaurants around the East Bay—even spicy goodies. Her latest discovery is a love of jambalaya! Amazing! Just don’t ask her to try vegetables. Hey, she’s still a kid.

Thank you Christy and Lynn for sharing these two most lovely little girls with us! What an awesome way to end our week! Now, where can I find a pair of silver gladiator sandals in a size 7 1/2? Hmmm.

Meet Gia! Our awesome

This is little Gia. Except she’s not so little anymore! She’s a rockin’ seven year old with a great sense of style. While technically we’ve never met, I’ve “known” Gia since she was a really cute lil sprout. When her awesome mama Tammy sent me these pictures I was stunned—WHO IS THIS LITTLE LADY???? Gia has the raddest personality which you can see in all these photos. I should have called this post, “The Many Magnificent Faces of the Lady Gigi”. This kiddo is so expressive, creative and fun. Miss Gia, we luv ya! On with the show….

How cute is this girl??? I love how one minute she looks all girlie girl gorgeous and the next she is ready to hop on a Vespa and head over to band practice with her papa!  (as lead singer, of course!) Her mama tells us that Gia loves music, dancing, singing, and acting. She loves playing dress-up and it should come as no surprise that she is a huge Lady Gaga and Michael Jackson fan! Little Gigi also likes playing tennis, playing “school” and hanging out with her dog and her friends. Her favorite TV shows are iCarly and America’s Funniest Home Videos. When Gia grows up, she wants to be a teacher, a mommy and have her own TV show. Hmmm, why do I think this is all probably going to happen?? Thanks Tammy and Molo for sharing your adorable little girl with us!

OH, and pssst! Wanna score those crazy cool Flamenco shoes? Head over to Flamenco Export.

Special note: If you have submitted photos and are thinking, “Lawdy, when is MY cool kiddo going to be featured?” Do not fret, my pet! We have had an *overwhelmingly positive* response to this feature (YAY!) and we’ll for sure get to you! We try to feature kiddo’s in the order submitted, however I reserve the right to mix it up so we don’t have, say a month of only girls or all toddlers etc etc. It keeps things fresh! And for those of you who haven’t submitted, whatch waiting for?? Send us those shots!

Meet *Miss* James our Weekly Kiddo

Sooooo, this coming Sunday is a little thing called MOTHER’S DAY. Perhaps yer familiar with it? Mmm hmmm. So I was thinkin’…wouldn’t it be fun to mix things up around here in honor of the mamas?? (check out our revamped masthead in honor of the weekend! Thank you Pilgrim!!!) So this week’s Weekly Kiddo is actually a Weekly Mama. Which totally works because she’s def still a big kiddo at heart—not to mention one sassy mama. Meet *Miss* James, the lovely and fabulous founder of the equally lovely and fabulous Bleubird Vintage. People, this woman just oozes style. I remember seeing James years ago on eBay when she first started selling vintage, and I swear she just gets lovelier. James already has two stunning kiddos, but she is currently pregnant with a baby bird and you won’t believe the amazing outfits she has been pulling together. She looks SO DARN CUTE all the time, I just had to share her with ya. Being pregnant is one of the most amazing things, but I think there were times when we ALL felt a little outta body—a tad schlubbier, a little clumsier and just not yourself. This goes out to all the ladies who are expecting. You are all beautiful. Take it away James!

Um, HOW GORGEOUS IS THIS WOMAN?? Dang. And all this gorgeousness would be potentially annoying if James weren’t also just sooo super sweet and nice too. Here are some fun tidbits about this stylishly, cool chica:

She loves sushi, soup & fondue (I’m fairly certain the vintage fondu pots have something to do with this!). Some of her fave bevvies are water, chai tea, soy vanilla lattes, frappucinos and red wine (mmmm, coffee and red wine…..not all together of course.).  She adores John Lennon and loooooves thrifting. She collects all kinds of cool stuff like vintage vinyl, furniture, knick-knacks (owls and deer are special faves) and, of course, vintage clothing.

OK. I’m not through yet….because this *is* Modern Kiddo afterall and I would be remiss if I didn’t share with you some pictures of James most beautiful little girl, Milla Plum. She’s 7 and fabulous. Yep. It clearly runs in the family:

(Pssst, that little heartbreaker on the left is her little boy Julian. Such a cutie….this family, I’m tellin’ ya!)

That’s all folks. Thank you so much James for sharing your adorable family (and amazing wardrobe!) with us. We heart you big time! Be sure to swing by James’ most excellent blog and of course please stop by bleubird vintage which is jam-packed full of lovely vintage goodies.

PS The most excellent washi tape borders are from my sweet pal Danielle, at Kitschy Digitals. You can score some of your own HERE. They are crazy affordable!

You may have picked up by now that one of my favorite bloggers out there is Danielle, of Kitschy Digitals. She’s crafty, she’s cool, she’s creative, she collects Blythe dollies (yay!)…..and she’s an awesome mommy to two super cute boys, Cooper and Campbell. This week, we’ve got our eye on Super Cooper—her spunky 6 year old. Look at this lil fella! I’d like to point out that Danielle took all these beautiful photos! This is one stylish family….

Did you check out that smile on this boy? What a sweetie! Cooper is way into playing his DSLite and is a champ at the Xbox. He loves to play soccer but is also a really great reader….but more than anything he loves ice-cream! His mama tells us that he recently watched E.T. for the first time and loved it. cooper is a sensitive little lad and got a bit teary when E.T. got sick  (me too Cooper!) but he loved it when they rode their bikes in the sky! Aw, Cooper you are one awesomely cute little dude! We luv ya!

Meet Donovan! Our Weekly Kiddo

This week we have a very special kiddo who comes to us alllll the way from the sunny land down under. Donovan! I was lucky enough to meet this adorable little feller in January when he and his parents came for a visit. His mama is my super sweet friend Pilgrim who is so fun and creative and an extremely talented artist (she’s responsible for our groovy logo and artwork!). Pilgrim looooves color, so it’s no wonder her boy is a super snazzy dresser. Take a look at this three year old super cutie:

Donovan is three and a half years old and such a sweet boy. He really loves to read and talk about the alphabet. Right now his favorite book is This is San Francisco, which he got when he and his parents travelled to our fair City in January. His favorite band is the Beatles (yay!) and he especially loves the song “All together now”. Donovan loves playing guitar with his dad and critiquing his mum’s designs which he always says “need more colors!” Donovan is most happy when he gets to have Mexican food for dinner and he currently can’t get enough of the Pee Wee’s Playhouse DVDs. This little charmer say that when he grows up he wants to “play piano in a marching band”. Awww, little dude….you rock! We can’t to see you again.
