Meet the Peach! Our Little Birthday

If you’re a regular reader then you undoubtedly have heard our Miss Dottie mention a certain little “Peach” in many of her posts. Who is this mysterious little munchkin? Well I’m thrilled to bits to present to Dottie’s little girl, the most lovely and adorable Georgia! This little love bug is turning a grand One Year Old!

Little Miss Georgia is a total doll. This clever girl plays a mean game of peekaboo and has exceptional manners for one so young! Not only is she an expert giggler and smiler, she understands that it’s not polite to wake her parents before 6am. Dottie says if she wakes up early, she can hear Georgia singing and cooing quietly to herself in her crib—but after 6:00am all bets are off and this little lady wants to start her day in style! Speaking of style….on with the show!

Tee hee! That last one is a killer….pure stink town, as Dottie would say!!

Little Miss Georgia has an ever-expanding palette. While she loves the usual suspects, she also delights in things like zucchini and basil with millet. Ooh lala! She’s also crazy for pears. Her mommy says:

“Miss Peach has a big ole crush on our cat, Minnow, whom she likes to greet with a hiss every time she’s sees her. As that is how Minnow greets her, the Peach thinks it is only polite to follow suit! She enjoys feeding herself with a spoon (or attempting to) and is fascinated by people brushing their teeth. She is not a fan of vacuums, cauliflower, swaddling or the letter Z.”

Oh little peachie, but we are a big fan of YOU! Happy birthday beautiful girl!
xoxo

And in honor of your birthday, a few fun vintage cards just for YOU!

BONUS SHOT. It’s the same outfit as the first, but I couldn’t resist posting it, just ’cause he looks so stinkin’ cute here…

Ryden gets his fashion sense from his awesome mommy Jessica, of course! She says that his dad likes to joke that he has never seen Ryden wear the same outfit twice. (“Not true!!” she swears!) Ryden is a big fan of the Mr. Men Show, especially “Mr. Tickle” (one of my personal faves too Ryden!). When dinner time rolls around his favorite thing to munch are veggie “chicken nuggets.” Among his many talents (you know…amazingly cute grin, awesomely reddish hair) he likes to think excels at staying up late. Ryden, we luv ya kiddo!

Meet Griffin! Our

Guess what time it is friends? Yep, another adorable kiddo is rounding out our week! Meet Griffin, an impossibly sweet little four year old from Northern California. This outdoorsy little lad is really just as cute as can be, don’t you agree? We love that his style is colorful and totally adorable yet clearly keeps him comfy whether he’s sitting inside reading a book or hiking with his parents in the redwoods. Presenting: GRIFFIN!

Unlike my beloved child, little Griffin is a world class eater. He not only loves to help his mommy Toria in the kitchen, he loves to nibble on his daddy’s famous mac n’ cheese, spaghetti & meatballs, cheesy eggy omelets, burritos, papusas, sushi, odwalla juice, bagels with lox, cream cheese sandwiches and MORE! (I’m dying’ kiddo….can you give Wolfie a lesson in SUSHI please??) His favorite color is green, he loves the Beatles and he’s obsessed with his engineer overalls and rain boots. Griffin also likes anything with wheels but especially adores story time. Among his favorite books: Trashy Town, The Incredible Book-Eating Boy, The Giant Jam Sandwich, The Runaway Dinner, Arnie the Donut. I think its safe to say that Griffin may grow up to be a famous food critic or star of Top Chef 2030. His mama says, “Griffin is a big sweetie. He loves the playground, bouncy houses, running around playing tag, farting and then telling you about it!” (my kinda kid….toot toot!) Hurray for Griffin!!! You rock little dude!

Weekly Kiddo :: Meet Dorothy Bird!

Today’s Weekly Kiddo is the lovely little Dorothy—who goes by Dotty! (I swear this had NOTHING to do with her being selected….hee.) Miss Dotty Jr. is the delightful daughter of my amazing friend Jenny, from Frecklewonder. I have to confess I requested some older photos of Dotty for this post because I wanted to show off some of her incredible vintage baby gear. Jenny is a thrifting pro and has great style. She is living proof that you don’t have to spend a mint to make your little one look like a million bucks. Jenny says that they are always on the prowl for cute vintage dresses. Dotty’s style is a mix of vintage + thrifted items, with a few newer items tossed in. As you can see, it’s all about the color and the polka dots for this girl! OK, take a gander at this adorable little miss:

Lil Cowgirl Chic

+ vintage western shirt. Thrifted, dollar bin
+ polka dot skirt. Thrifted, dollar bin
[two bucks for an entire outfit?? you can’t beat that!]

Dotty Dolly
+ vintage dress, found in the dollar bin at the goodwill (WHERE is this Goodwill? I must go…)
+ little 50s wool hat, antique store
+ tights + shoes are new
Pssst! Curtains in the background were made by dotty’s crafty mommy

Aloha Romper
+ sweet little handmade smock shirt (made by rachel denbow of smile and wave)
+ little dotty bloomers, thifted from dollar bin (she’s killing me here…)

I mean honestly! How cute is this little muffin? I asked her sweet mama to tell us a little about her girl and she told me this: “Dotty loves to dance! If she hears a beat, she just can’t resist moving to it! Some of her favorite foods of the moment are graham crackers with creme cheese, banana smoothies, tofu and asparagus. She is super into reading books, drawing, snuggling her buddies, and getting “tattoos” (stamps on her hands when she visits her mama’s craft room). But the best part of the day for dotty is when the school bus roars down the street bringing her big brother henry home from school!”

We are smitten with this little one for sure! A little birdie told me that she is  21 months old today. Here she is today in all her glory! HAPPY 21 months gorgeous girlie!

Meet Pippi! Our

OK folks. Take a gander at this little sweet pea. What a style maven she is, and only 3 years old! (ok ok, technically “2 1/2!”) Her mother is the totally awesome Heather who is so very clever about dressing her little girlie. A lovely mix of store bought, thrifted and hand me downs gives this wee one a style all her own! The best part is that every little outfit looks as comfy as it looks cute. (We here at Modern Kiddo call it the “Cozy Factor”, coined by my own little Wolfie when he tried on a Stella McCartney/Gap peacoat and proclaimed, “Mommy, this jacked isn’t very cozy!”) But I digress….on with the Pippi Parade!

1. grey sweater, baby gap (hand me down)
2. tie dye tee, baby gap (hand me down)
3. polka dot skirt, baby gap
4. pink leggings, garanimals
5. green boots, faded glory

1. striped tee, baby gap
2. plaid skirt, acoustic clothing
3. hand made leg warmers
4. green boots, faded glory

1. sweater coat, babystyle (hand me down)
2. grey dress, babystyle (hand me down)
3. green leggings, circo
4. boots (hand me downs)

I mean honestly, if the Pippi Parade doesn’t just melt you’re heart, then you have a heart of stone people! Miss Pippi loves Yo Gabba Gabba and Disneyland (especiall It’s a Small World—this little one is my kinda gal!). She is extremely fond of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches (or jelly and butter as she calls them!) and she loves to play dollies and have tea parties. Her lovely mommy says that when she tells you a story it is sung like a song (I’m about to die, cute cute cute!). “Pippi loves to help me sew and color with her older brothers Dax and Cash. She is also the best thrift store partner, last time we went she found two matroyshka dolls on a bottom shelf!”

To complete this three ring circus of cuteness it shouldn’t come as any surprise when I tell you that bunnies are her favorite animal. Everyone together now, Yippi for Pippi! (sorry, I couldn’t resist!)
