It’s time again for Widdle Wednesdays

Aww, we love our Wednesday celebration of all things teensy. I’m just gonna jump right in and take a lil look see at what we have today!

The bioME 5 Animal Alphabet Project was created by two architectural designers who loved animals, children and the process of learning and discovery. Each onesie has a cute animal graphic with a matching alphabet letter. Made with 100% certified organic cotton. Get yours from bioME5.

“My Milkshax brings all the babes in the yard…..” Cutie cute graphic onses from Milkshax!

Growing up in the 70s and 80s, personalized goodies were al the rage. But lemme tell you, they never had anything with Alexandra written on them. I was so sad. Etsy seller Jig solves this problem with these really cute customized onesies—any name you like is matched up with a fun graphic. Pretty perfect if you ask me!

You just gotta check out these rad little Vans style skater socks from Trumpette! They’re famous for their little mary jane socks, but how fun is this new spin? Available from Black Wagon.

These little t-strap mock shoesies are sweet to the max. And also from Black Wagon.

Graphic design mama Efi latief started Tomat when her baby girl was born and the result is really fab. I think these pink and blue onesies with Fisher Price record players on them are so sweet.

This little retro heart cap from Scandanavian Baby is soooo adorable! I also love the Many Clouds onesie from green cotton.

Tell me that you arent’t flipping over these sweet lil leggings!! They each have an image on the bum and are sure to be cuddley soft. From sweet shop Kawaii Kids. They have the most brilliant collection of goodies over there. Trust me, you’ll be seeing more of ’em around here.

I love this little sunsuit from Kit and Lili. The colors are adorable as all get out!

And finally, let’s get really girlie. Black Wagon has this adorable Audrey onesie. I get a little tired with the [HAH! I just realized I never finished that sentence because, I FELL ASLEEP WHILE TYPING. Man.). Well what I was going to say was I get a little tired of overly hipster screen prints, but this one is just a fun, sweet take on that. She’s ubiquitous, but who doesn’t love them some Audrey??

And finally, this little onesie is pram and proper! And so appropriate given Dottie’s stroller post, eh? Pick one of these from Eight3one.

I hope you liked this little bebe round up. Do you have any favorite baby brands? What are your top recommendations?
Bring ’em on! OH, and don’t forget to enter our cute Giveaway from Kristin Loffer  Theiss of KLT Works! It’s a good one—check it out over here.

Vintage Mondays: Retro Round Up

Monday Monday! How was everyone’s weekend? We had some pretty fab weather here in San Francisco. Loads of sunshine which made us a bunch of happy campers. We even busted out the BBQ and did a little grilling. How come it’s never long enough though? OK, so are you ready for a little e-thrifting magic again? Let the Round Up begin!

First up! A super hipster junior special—the incredible Hulk tee! The stripy touches are what make this one such a cutie. Er, I mean, such a POWA HOUSE OF STYLE, AHHHHRRRRRHH!!!!!!

Get this shirt from our pals over at: The Robot Parade 4 Kids

Here’s another lil something for your little feller, this cowboy shirt is rootin’ tootin’ terrifiec. I’m especially digging the little branding iron detail, in the shape of a star and the state of Texas. Yee haw! Don’t mess with Texas, ya’ll.

And don’t mess with Etsy seller catspajamavintage.

The weather is warming up but it’s still not summer yet. You’ll need something for the cooler days and this red jacket is perfect for your little slugger this spring! I’m not even a sporty fan, and I think this little guy is a home run. (OK, that was a bad one, but it’s not like I could say “I’m ready to go to third base with this jacket!”)

Available from Etsy seller, super cutie Baby Hank.

I can’t lie. I’m both charmed and terrified by this Raggedy Andy jumpsuit! It’s so adorably creepy. Maybe it’s because the the buttons on the pants look like eyes? Hmmm. Well it’s still cute!

From my girl’s over at the Three Ring Circus.

This little sunsuit is tres cute. I love the side button details and while it looks a tad formal, I’m thinkin’ this would be amazing with a little tee underneath and some Converse sneaks.

This little darlin’ is hanging out with eBay sellers: forever creative

Aw, denim and gingham? How stylie is this baby? I love blue with red and white and I’m thinkin’ this would be perfect for a boy or a girl.

Score this cutie from Etsy Seller: A Vintage Choice

I’m not sure if you can tell but this fabric is really awesome—quilted with an Alphabet  motif and it says “spelling bee” with a lil bee.

Grab this Green Alpha Romper from Etsy Seller fuzzymama

OK. Just in case someone beats you to the Raggedy Andy romper (or you were weirded out by THOSE EYES), this is another sweet option. Ze poodle wis ze rose in ze mouth ees magnifique!

Another sassy selection from robot parade 4 kids.

Ooooooh eeeee. This bubble gum pink jacket is a sweet sweet thang. The hood is trimmed with eyelet and the little lambie applique is baaaaaaa-nanas. Hyuck.

Pink Jacket form Etsy seller Soso Vintage

Didja happen to catch the darling little vintage apple dress on my girl Pippi last Friday? Well you can’t have that dressie, but her mum has another equally as cute lil sass-suit in her Etsy shop. You know what they say. An apple a day keeps the boring ol wardrobe away…

From my Etsy Darlings, 3 Ring Circus

Um, this one goes out to mah girl Dottie. Ruffle bottom? Rick-a-rac trim on the pockets?? Adorable arty smock that would be amazing over jeans or leggings? Helllllo! Buy this now please!

This sweet thang is available from Etsy seller ledoubleve

This Etsy seller has the sassiest model around. Check this girl out! It was hard to pick just one shot, but I thought this little sailboat top with the shoulder ties was adorable. And speakin’ of Ty Ty babies…. Tyra girl, watch yer back. This girl is comin’ for YOU.

Pick up this top form Etsy seller Decades Baltimore.

Hope you’re having a fantastic Monday. Miss Dottie has a sweet little post for Vintage Monday that I just know you’ll want to check out, so come back here later this afternoon mah lovies. Peace out!

Happy Birthday Kiddo: Rainbow Brite.

I’m one of those gals who is a little extreme when it comes to spending money. I’m either spending $200+ on a schmancy Marc Jacobs handbag or I’m spending $2 on a bag from the thrift store or something from Target. It’s sort of working for me. I’m not at all opposed to throwing down money on something beautiful or well made, as long as it’s “special”. That’s why I’ll never throw down crazy money for, say, a Prada t-shirt. Makes no sense to me. At the same time, I LOVE getting creative and snazzing something up that was really affordable. One of the things I’m most proud of here at Modern Kiddo is that we feature a range of stuff. It’s true, some days we post gorgeous-but-spendy European clothes—and why not? I think it’s perfect eye candy and great for a splurge! At the same time, we’ll also offer up totally affordable things from Target and our beloved recycled vintage items from Etsy and ebay. Which all leads me to today’s post. A clever birthday party for an amazing little girl. If you are one of our original readers, then perhaps you already know this adorable little lass. The fabulous Miss Pippi:

I love this kiddo! She’s got mad style and clearly a most adorable personality to boot! Last weekend she celebrated her 3rd birthday. Her mama Heather told me that she didn’t have much time to throw together the party and had to get creative. Well, let’s just say I can’t wait to see what this talented lady cooks up when she HAS time. I think this is one of the cutest parties ever, and what I love most about it is that it was super simple, sweet and affordable. The theme? Rainbows.

(That expression kills me. “Um, can everyone please stop looking at me? I’m trying to focus on my cake!”)

Um, yeah. The cake? HELLO. I thought it was adorable before they cut into it….but now?? WOW.

Pip’s older brother Dax was the DJ for the party (how cool is that kid??) and I’m told the set list included some old school faves like Billy Idol, Michael Jackson and a personal fave, Kung Fu Fighting. Aw yeah! I love this family.

Please note La Pip hopping on the trampoline in the background….too cute!

To keep the party easy peasy, Pippi’s mama picked up some rainbow tissue paper banners and a couple dozen balloons in rainbow colors. She scored rainbow tooth brushes and Care Bear gummy bears from the .99 cent store and the lollipops and sixlets candy were from Oriental Trading Co.—which all made for super fun and colorful favors. In addition to the amazing cake, they ordered some yummy pizzas, cut up fresh fruit in rainbow colors and added a batch of rainbow cupcakes to sweeten the deal. All totally do-able, affordable and completely adorable.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LITTLE LADY!! We think you’re pretty great.

Love, yer pals at Modern Kiddo.

Meet Donovan! Our Weekly Kiddo

This week we have a very special kiddo who comes to us alllll the way from the sunny land down under. Donovan! I was lucky enough to meet this adorable little feller in January when he and his parents came for a visit. His mama is my super sweet friend Pilgrim who is so fun and creative and an extremely talented artist (she’s responsible for our groovy logo and artwork!). Pilgrim looooves color, so it’s no wonder her boy is a super snazzy dresser. Take a look at this three year old super cutie:

+ Awesome apple t-shirt by genki
+ Jeans by Target
(and yes, he’s holding a vintage Fisher Price Chime Apple! Woot!)

+ Yeti shirt by gama go
+ Jeans by Cotton On: Kids

+ Groovy T-shirt by tiny mammoth
+ Jeans by cotton on kids

+ Mickey Mouse Shirt, Disneyland
+ Mouse Ears, Disneyland

+ Shirt by seed, shorts by target

+ Hoodie by Paul Frank
+ Pants, Target

+ Hip lion singlet by primal point
+ Brown corduroy trousers by ouch!

Donovan is three and a half years old and such a sweet boy. He really loves to read and talk about the alphabet. Right now his favorite book is This is San Francisco, which he got when he and his parents travelled to our fair City in January. His favorite band is the Beatles (yay!) and he especially loves the song “All together now”. Donovan loves playing guitar with his dad and critiquing his mum’s designs which he always says “need more colors!” Donovan is most happy when he gets to have Mexican food for dinner and he currently can’t get enough of the Pee Wee’s Playhouse DVDs. This little charmer say that when he grows up he wants to “play piano in a marching band”. Awww, little dude….you rock! We can’t to see you again.

Kristin knows that any tot worth his salt is going to want to hug and kiss a dog as cute as the one on the tee, so she is including a matching plushy pet!  And this is no ordinary little pup, but has a jaunty green polka dot and flower fabric on the back. Hot dog, indeed! This whole crazy ensemble is a $43 value. (Although really getting a piece of someone’s art is kind of priceless, no?)
